With the intention to assist CPAs to comply with the CPD requirements, our firm thru the P&A Grant Thornton Academy presented a curriculum referred to as Learning Excellence in Accounting Practices (LEAP). As we endeavored to train fellow experts, it has come to be apparent in our interactions with them that the function of the accountant has transitioned towards that of being a commercial enterprise advisor and accomplice for the businesses they serve.
Apart from the technical rigor, accountants want to revisit their critical role to all stakeholders, no longer simply to management. There is developing consensus to offer cognizance on a holistic view of complexity, danger, and overall performance. Such a holistic angle should account for the complexity of current enterprise and encompass economic and non-financial signs of a company’s fame and ability. Reporting should also assess organizational fitness, performance, and possibilities along their effect to the groups wherein they perform.
